  • Location: Bristol
  • Skills needed: Works well within a team, great communication skills

Do you enjoy planning and delivering events? Are you motivated working within a team? Would you like to put your skills to the test or develop new ones? If yes, we would love to hear from you!

What we're looking for:

We need someone in the Bristol area to play an important role in creating special high value events within our volunteer Special Events Team to raise vital funds and promote the work the NSPCC does in the area.

You'll forge links with key individuals, companies and other NSPCC volunteers in the local area to make these events a success.

What you'll do:

You'll be part of a group of people who work together to organise fundraising events e.g. Wine tasting evenings, Quizzes, sports matches, dinners and other creative activities to engage the community. You'll have the chance to work collectively to make this group your own. Attendance at regular meetings is a requirement to ensure continuous progress with event planning - these meetings are mostly virtual but in-person get togethers are regularly organised.

What you'll get:

We'll support you with advice, skills and tools to help you fundraise and spread the word about the NSPCC. You'll have the opportunity to work with the Bristol Branch Committee and local NSPCC Business Board who are two different networks of volunteers. You will also be supported by other local NSPCC partners.

You'll learn more about how you're helping to protect children in Bristol and across the UK, and you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and inspire others to support us.

You will be required to tell others all about the work the NSPCC is doing, but don't worry you'll get plenty of support with this.

Who's right for the role?

While we think this role is suitable for a whole range of people, we are particularly looking for those with the following qualities and experience:

  • passionate about helping young people and children
  • willing to engage with this new social opportunity
  • great communication and social skills
  • enthusiastic and personable
  • strong organisational skills
  • a self starter
  • someone with initiative
  • works well within a team.

Experience or a want to develop skills in fundraising and event planning is essential.

Experience with leading events and/or securing sponsorship is desirable.

We are currently unable to accept applications from under 18's to this role.

The most interesting reason for working with the
NSPCC is that the NSPCC highly embraces,
encourages
and promotes diversity and
inclusiveness of staff.
