Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it's the reason our Operational Support Team push themselves to equip and support our staff and volunteers to play the biggest part they can. Join us as a Services Systems Manager and help our people do work that means everything.

The Services Systems Manager will lead the support of our systems in Services working across our Multiple Operational Support Team (MOST) and Helplines Operational Support Team (HOST) to ensure Services have the right tools when they need them.

What is the purpose of the Services Systems Manager role?

As a Services System Manager you will be the key lead for troubleshooting systems issues, coordinating with internal and external colleagues to complete testing and impact assessments on live system changes. Through a structured project management approach and utilising core business analyst skills, you will play a key role in coordinating, maintaining, and ensuring the availability of systems in Services.

You will also be the Major Incidents lead, including out of hours, working with colleagues to ensure effective and efficient technical system support is in place for Service from a service continuity perspective. You will lead, manage and develop a number of team members including systems analysts.

This is a varied and exciting role that requires flexibility and a strong ability to proactively lead a team with varied and changing priorities and situations.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is highly organised and solution focussed and has:

  • Experience of implementing and supporting technology using a range of project management approaches.
  • The ability to manage complex projects across the Directorate and Organisation, ensuring relevant project management and governance processes are followed.
  • Experience of managing a geographically dispersed team, providing line management, direction and support both individually and as a team.
  • Experience of creating, implementing and monitoring plans and processes as part of complex work in order to deliver to business objectives.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, organise and plan own work and the work of others to deliver on time.
  • Ability to develop professional and respectful relationships.
  • Flexible to travel UK wide as required.

Join us and you'll become part of a team that cares about the work they do, the people they work with and most importantly the children and adults who need the NSPCC. You'll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that'll bring the best out in you.

Do you still have questions about the role?

Working in the Services team The application process

Safer Recruitment

As an organisation, we are committed to creating and fostering a culture that promotes safeguarding and the welfare of all children and adults at risk. Our safer recruitment practices support this by ensuring that there is a consistent and thorough process of obtaining, collating, analysing and evaluating information from and about candidates to ensure that all persons appointed are suitable to work with our children and adults.

Trauma Informed

At the NSPCC we are on a journey to becoming a trauma-informed organisation for the children, young people and families that we work with, as well as our staff and volunteers. To be trauma-informed is one of the guiding principles that shape and guide our 2021-2031 Strategy. This means understanding the nature of adversity, trauma, and resilience so that we can work towards reducing and preventing further harm and promoting recovery and healing. Coming to work at the NSPCC will provide the opportunity for you to join us in our commitment to becoming a trauma-informed organisation.
