Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it's why our National Services team never stop sharing our learning, information, advice and support with everyone who needs it. Join us as a Training and Development Consultant, and help us make a contribution that makes a difference.
Who are we?
The Professional Learning Services Team works to provide expert safeguarding and child protection training and support to external professionals and organisations working or volunteering with children, or whose staff may come into contact with them. The Child Protection in Sport Unit is part of the Professional Learning Services department providing safeguarding support and guidance to over 200 sports organisations, from grassroots to elite level.
What will the role entail?
You will be instrumental in ensuring children taking part in Football across England are safer in and through sport by undertaking safeguarding reviews within grassroots football. You will also contribute to the delivery of the NSPCC's strategy by providing training, consultancy and advice services to a wide range of sport and physical activity organisations across the UK.
As a Training and Development Consultant, you'll empower those who support children, while sharpening your own skills in training delivery, consultancy, and relationship building. Every day brings the chance to inspire, influence, and innovate—making a real impact where it matters most. If you're passionate about growth, both personal and professional, this is your opportunity to thrive and make a difference.
What makes you the ideal candidate?
We're looking for candidates with the following:
Join us and you'll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You'll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that'll bring the best out in you. And you'll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts millions of young lives.
As an organisation, we are committed to creating and fostering a culture that promotes safeguarding and the welfare of all children and adults at risk. Our safer recruitment practices support this by ensuring that there is a consistent and thorough process of obtaining, collating, analysing and evaluating information from and about candidates to ensure that all persons appointed are suitable to work with our children and adults.
At the NSPCC we are on a journey to becoming a trauma-informed organisation for the children, young people and families that we work with, as well as our staff and volunteers. To be trauma-informed is one of the guiding principles that shape and guide our 2021-2031 Strategy. This means understanding the nature of adversity, trauma, and resilience so that we can work towards reducing and preventing further harm and promoting recovery and healing. Coming to work at the NSPCC will provide the opportunity for you to join us in our commitment to becoming a trauma-informed organisation.
