Being part of NSPCC

Our promise to you

Recruiting and retaining the right people is critical for us. It’s because of you that we’re able to continue our work to protect children today and prevent abuse tomorrow. So, we work hard to ensure that you’ll feel happy and supported in your role.

Rewarding in every way

Any one of our people will tell you that a huge reward in itself is making a difference to children’s lives. But we know it’s a competitive world, and it’s important to feel valued in your role and receive more practical, tangible benefits. We offer salaries that are at least comparable with the top charities in the UK, as well as these benefits.

Generous annual leave
We strive to achieve a happy and healthy work-life balance for all our people: 29 days per annum plus bank holidays for full-time employees (pro-rata for part-time). 32 days per annum after five years’ continuous service.

Employee discounts
Our discounts portal gives you online access to over 3,000 discounts and offers on everyday goods and services.

The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
EAP is an independent, free, personal support service. It is available to all NSPCC employees, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can provide information, support and advice to support your health and wellbeing.

Pension
We know how important planning for the future is. Building up a good pension is something we want to help you achieve with our flexible, tax-efficient pension schemes.

Life assurance scheme
All employees will be given life assurance of one times their salary, unless they join the NSPCC Group Personal Pension Scheme, where members are given life assurance of five times their salary.

Volunteering opportunities

All NSPCC employees are entitled to allocate up to four working days per year, or half an hour each week, to volunteer for us. You can also request flexible working arrangements to support your volunteering with us, whether the volunteering falls within your contracted working hours or not.

Flexibility

We try to be as adaptable as possible in everything we do. We work actively to understand the needs of our people and meet these where we can, ensuring that those who need us continue to be supported. Our policies and practices support flexibility in where, when, and how you work, balancing your individual circumstances against our service delivery, business need and any potential impact on others.

“Thrive is NSPCC’s staff mental health network and our aim is to create a culture where staff can speak about their mental health freely and without stigma. If we can help people to be more open about their mental health at work, we’re one step closer to them feeling like they can bring their whole selves to work.”
