About Strategy and Knowledge

We are a department of over 140 professionals working hybrid across all NSPCC offices and from home. We bring together the core knowledge base of the NSPCC, so that the organisation speaks with one authoritative voice; grounded in the reality of children’s lives, practitioner expertise and the best available evidence. We drive the organisational strategy, working across the organisation to plan and measure our progress towards our strategic goals. We also develop and hold our positions on key policy issues, influencing policymakers, as well as conducting and commissioning research to drive positive change. We develop and scale direct services for children and families, informed by the best available evidence. Our knowledge on child protection and safeguarding in the UK is unrivalled, and we spread it widely.

Our teams

It is the job of our Development and Implementation team to oversee the development, testing and scale-up of NSPCC services. They in turn work closely with Policy and Public Affairs, who develop the NSPCC’s positions on key policy issues, and harness these to influence policy makers and external stakeholders. Our Knowledge and Information Service is the most comprehensive resource on child protection and safeguarding in the UK and is there to provide the information our people and external audiences need to keep children safe. Our Research and Evidence team conduct and commission research and use this to drive positive change. And finally, our Strategy and Performance team work collaboratively across the organisation, planning and directly delivering programmes, that move us closer to our strategic vision.

Problem-solving abilities allow you to identify problems and solve them efficiently and effectively. Being a good problem solver allows you to understand and analyse problems and develop creative and strategic solutions, even with limited resources available.
