Garden Event Volunteer- East

  • Location:
    Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Peterborough
  • Closing Date:
    1 April 2025
  • Skills needed:
Green fingers, an interest in gardening and a desire to help children.
  • Commitment :
Minimum 1 year in the role
  • Are you garden-proud?
  • Do you have green fingers?
  • Are you interested in fundraising from flora and fauna?
  • Would you like to use your passion for horticulture to help children?

The NSPCC is looking for people with an interest in gardening to come together to grow more than just plants and vegetables! We would love to propagate groups of like-minded nature-lovers to share their passion, grow a community and ‘sew the seeds' of knowledge about the NSPCC while raising funds for children.

Perhaps you might be willing to host an open garden event this summer? Or perhaps you don't have a garden you could open but you'd like to bring together friends and neighbours to hold a plant sale? Maybe you're a keen garden photographer and you'd like to showcase the fabulous gardens on your street by producing a calendar – we're open to ideas and would love to support your botanical brainstorming!

We know that gardening has benefits to mental health and we're keen to support volunteering that enriches the lives of our supporters as well as the children we support.

We'll support you with advice, skills and tools to help you fundraise and spread the word of the NSPCC. You'll learn more about how you're helping to protect children across the UK, and you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and inspire others to support us. It's also a chance to spend time with like-minded people and make new friends.

Who's right for the role?

While we think this role is suitable for a whole range of people, we are particularly looking for those with the following qualities and experiences.

  • Passionate about helping young people and children
  • Keen on gardening or interested to learn more
  • Enthusiastic and personable
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Great communication and social skills

We are currently unable to accept applications from under 18's to this role, please view our other volunteering opportunities or get in touch with the Volunteer Recruitment team on volunteerrecruitment@nspcc.org.uk
