“The NSPCC is brilliant place to work. I am really proud to be a part of our Schools Service team - We challenge ourselves to provide a range of services that help children every day and I find the creativity and skill of the people I work with inspiring.”
Half a million UK child experience abuse every year, that's 7 children in every classroom before they turn 18. But together we can stop this.
As one of our trained Speak Out Stay Safe volunteers, you'll play a vital role in protecting a generation of children, by helping them understand abuse and giving them the confidence to speak out if they need help.
As a Speak Out Stay Safe volunteer you’ll get the opportunity to:
Our volunteers visit local primary schools twice a month and run our age-appropriate Speak Out Stay Safe workshops.
You’ll work alongside other volunteers to make sure at the end of each session the children feel empowered and know who they can speak out to if they are worried.
When you volunteer with us, we'll be here to support you throughout. You’ll get lots of initial training which includes practice sessions, home study and multiple visits to schools to help you learn how to use all of the workshop materials.
When you start delivering the sessions, support will be on offer from both your supervisor and other experienced volunteers.
