What we're looking for

We need enthusiastic volunteers to share and champion the messages of the NSPCC School service and opportunities available. This role can be done remotely or in person.

What you'll do

You'll help raise awareness of our work by talking to people in your community — local groups, businesses, individuals, and online networks. You'll use your knowledge of your local area to help us find the best ways to inspire others to get involved.

Your activities might include:

  • Sharing NSPCC social media posts
  • Posting in online groups
  • Attending local events and chatting to people about what we do

 What you'll get

  • Training and support for the role
  • The chance to learn how your contribution protects children locally and across the UK
  • Opportunities to meet and work with volunteers and staff
  • Free access to our in‑house training
  • Travel expenses reimbursed

Who we're looking for

There is no previous experience required for this role.  We'd especially like to hear from people who:

  • Know their local area well
  • Feel confident talking about the NSPCC's work
  • Care about supporting children and young people

If you would like any further information about the role please e-mail schoolservicequeries@nspcc.org.uk for more details or an informal chat.

Interested in getting involved? Volunteer today and join our fight for every childhood.

Volunteering in the Schools Service team The application process

Safer Recruitment

As an organisation, we are committed to creating and fostering a culture that promotes safeguarding and the welfare of all children and adults at risk. Our safer recruitment practices support this by ensuring that there is a consistent and thorough process of obtaining, collating, analysing and evaluating information from and about candidates to ensure that all persons appointed are suitable to work with our children and adults.

Trauma Informed

At the NSPCC we are on a journey to becoming a trauma-informed organisation for the children, young people and families that we work with, as well as our staff and volunteers. To be trauma-informed is one of the guiding principles that shape and guide our 2021-2031 Strategy. This means understanding the nature of adversity, trauma, and resilience so that we can work towards reducing and preventing further harm and promoting recovery and healing. Coming to work at the NSPCC will provide the opportunity for you to join us in our commitment to becoming a trauma-informed organisation.

Volunteer Expenses

We believe that volunteering with the NSPCC shouldn’t leave you out of pocket. We really appreciate your time, and will reimburse expenses in line with our volunteer expenses policy.
