Head of Supporter Centricity Transformation – NSPCC

Salary £65k

FTC 24 months

Location: Hybrid - flexible to home working with regular work from London office

At the NSPCC, our mission is clear: to end cruelty to children. Within the Income Generation Directorate, our aim is to maximise resources for the NSPCC's mission by raising funds, providing the best possible supporter experience, and inspiring long-term relationships between supporters of all kinds and our cause. We rely on the generosity of supporters across the UK for 90% of our annual income, with around half of our voluntary income coming from individuals who give regular donations.

The NSPCC's recently initiated Supporter Centricity programme aims to bring all supporters into the heart of our decision making and consideration. As part of the programme we are seeking to deliver a best in class supporter experience strategy, encompassing all supporters, with an initial prioritisation of financial supporters but working across the whole organisation.

Are you a visionary and experienced leader with a passion for supporter experience? Do you have the drive to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? If so, we want you to join our team as the Head of Supporter Centricity Transformation. In this role you will oversee the implementation of the Supporter Centricity strategy and roadmap, leading the cross organisational transformational change needed to enhance our engagement with supporters, with the goal of increasing the amount we raise for our work with children and young people.

You will be a key member of our Income Generation Leadership team, reporting directly into the Director of Income Generation who is also the Programme Sponsor for Supporter Centricity.

Our local and national services for children, including Childline, offer unique opportunities for supporters to make a transformational difference to the lives of children and young people. The challenges facing children today are significant, and this role aims to connect supporters of all kinds to the life changing solutions to those difficulties.

The role will entail working with many different key stakeholders:

  • Director of Income Generation – Programme Sponsor
  • Trustees and advisors
  • Executive Board
  • Multiple Directorates
  • External Stakeholders, such as agencies supporting the programme and work of the NSPCC.

As Head of Supporter Centricity Transformation, you will motivate, lead and support a brilliant cross-organisational team to successfully implement the strategy and fostering the culture of change across the NSPCC. Working within an agreed governance framework, you will create and lead the development of a roadmap for delivery and agree key performance indicators for the programme to ensure the optimum supporter experience is created.

This is a hugely exciting time to join the NSPCC, with the creation of the Supporter Centricity Programme we can see clearly the new opportunities that lie ahead to create a more supporter lead organisation. Maintaining the growth and success of the organisation through appointing an ambitious and strong leader for the programme is paramount.

If you are a talented leader, with substantial experience in change management and supporter engagement who has:

  • The experience to lead and facilitate a programme of work across a breadth of areas.
  • The ability to influence and negotiate, liaising with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to personally demonstrate accountability and commitment to culture change.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration across the charity.
  • Experience in designing and managing successful audience focussed engagement programmes across a mix of channels and techniques.

If this sounds like you, join us! In return you'll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You'll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that'll bring the best out in you. And you'll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts millions of young lives.

The role will entail significant cross-department and cross-directorate work, as well as collaboration with peers and colleagues at all levels across the organisation. The role is a hybrid, meaning there is a high degree of flexibility to work from home with an expectation to work from our London office as and when required. There is a requirement to be able to travel to donor meetings, team-based meetings and training, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK.

Working in the Income Generation team The application process

Safer Recruitment

As an organisation, we are committed to creating and fostering a culture that promotes safeguarding and the welfare of all children and adults at risk. Our safer recruitment practices support this by ensuring that there is a consistent and thorough process of obtaining, collating, analysing and evaluating information from and about candidates to ensure that all persons appointed are suitable to work with our children and adults.

Trauma Informed

At the NSPCC we are on a journey to becoming a trauma-informed organisation for the children, young people and families that we work with, as well as our staff and volunteers. To be trauma-informed is one of the guiding principles that shape and guide our 2021-2031 Strategy. This means understanding the nature of adversity, trauma, and resilience so that we can work towards reducing and preventing further harm and promoting recovery and healing. Coming to work at the NSPCC will provide the opportunity for you to join us in our commitment to becoming a trauma-informed organisation.
