What is the purpose of the Senior Strategic Marketing Officer? 

We are looking for a skilled Senior Strategic Marketing Officer to join our Strategic Marketing Team. This post-holder would focus on the delivery of strategic marketing activity for the NSPCC's Professional audience. 

This role plays a vital part in delivering our communications strategy and supporting the NSPCC's wider goals. You'll contribute by: 

  • Developing and delivering marketing and communications plans that promote safeguarding and child protection resources to peple who work with children.
  • Supporting stakeholder teams with strategic thinking during marketing planning and delivery.
  • Championing an audience-led approach to ensure all communications targeted at people who work with children are relevant and useful

Your work will help us reach more people, engage more supporters, and ultimately protect more children. 

 

What will I be doing as a Senior Strategic Marketing Officer? 

We are looking for a collaborative, enthusiastic marketing professional who has experience delivering insights-driven marketing strategies that make an impact. They'll be a great communicator, able to build effective working relationships and influence a range of stakeholders. Some of the role's main duties and responsibilities include:

  • The design and delivery of marketing and communications plans that support the promotion of campaigns, products and services targeted at people who work with children.
  • Supporting NSPCC Learning Digital's delivery of paid, owned and earned promotional activity across the full professionals product portfolio.
  • Taking ownership of NSPCC Learning's paid media campaign in partnership with our media agency partner.
  • Working closely with Professional Learning Services colleagues to understand their commercial strategy and to recommend marketing approaches 
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on professional-facing promotional activity, ensuring budget is being spent efficiently to deliver strong results against KPIs.

 

What skills do I need to be a Senior Strategic Marketing Officer?

The Senior Strategic Marketing Officer will work closely with teams across the NSPCC to devise and deliver communication projects aimed at people who work with children. To be successful in this role, applicants should have: 

  • Experience delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns, from planning through to evaluation. 
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to enable effective communication to a range of stakeholders and audiences
  • A well developed ability to build, manage and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of digital and offline engagement and marketing techniques, including digital media, social media, content marketing, email marketing and paid advertising.
  • A passion for audience-led marketing that improves supporter experience, with a personal commitment to the NSPCC's values and safeguarding principles.
